Sesame Street Live in Dodge City

Lynn was all excited about what we got to do last night. Being a huge Sesame Street fan as a child, he wanted to take the kids to Sesame Street Live in Dodge City. He got tickets with awesome seats and was getting all pumped up until he realized Sunday that City Court had been moved to Tuesday nights instead of Mondays. Guess what night our tickets were for.....you guessed it....Tuesday night! There was no way to move it so we called Grandma Koehn to see if she wanted to go help me wrangle two kids at the show.  Lynn was bummed, but grandma was excited.

We went out to eat first and then headed to the show. The first picture is Lulu eating a lemon that she said was sour. We kept what the show was until we got there to keep up the kids' excitement. Neither one is a huge Sesame Street fan, so I knew they would be more excited if we waited until we got there among all the excitement and I was right. The kids were a little disappointed that I wouldn't buy them some of the expense cheap PLASTIC, until Grandma Koehn gave them handmade Sesame Street dolls that her grandma made for Lynn when he went to the show when he was little. They were pretty excited and grandma got a little choked up remembering her grandma. It took Bubby a little longer to get into the show than it did Lulu, but once the show got going they were both excited! We were close enough that the kids got to touch the characters on the side stage. They thought that was pretty cool. The kids both enjoyed snow cones. Lulu danced through most of it and I think Bubby's favorite part was the confetti at the end. We were watching the side stage when a loud boom went off showering everyone in confetti. It was a lot of fun! Good memories in the making! We were all sad Daddy didn't get to go with us:-(

On a side note....Kansas has crazy weather. The day before yesterday we went to the zoo and it was 80 degrees and yesterday it didn't get above 25.

These are the homemade animals Great Great Grandma made.
